30 Minute Mozzarella & Ricotta Kit

(This is a Beginner Cheese Kit)

Make beautiful, fresh Mozzarella in just 30 minutes. This is the real thing. Perfect on a pizza or marinated with your favourite flavours.

This Kit Contains:

You Will Need: (most of which can be found in your kitchen)

  • Stainless steel pot to place your milk in large enough to hold four litres

  • Stainless steel perforated spoon

  • Stainless steel curd knife

  • Stainless steel ladle

  • Microwave safe bowl

  • Measuring spoons

  • Rubber Gloves

How Much Does It Make?

This kit will make up to 40 batches of Mozzarella, each batch being 600 to 700 grams.

 

How Do I Store My Ingredients?

We ship these products Australia wide, however this kit contains ingredients that do require long term storage in a freezer, once received. Extended time out of a freezer will decrease the shelf life.

Our Soft Cheese Kit makes eleven delicious, homemade cheeses:

The kit comes with a detailed, easy to follow directions demystifying all the steps in the cheese-making process and can be used with regular full cream milk, straight from the supermarket. Recipes are for easy to handle, 2 and 4 litre quantities, depending on which cheese you choose to make.

 

How Does It Work?

Making Soft Cheese is fun and easy. Most soft cheeses are made with these simple steps:

  1. Milk is warmed.

  2. Cheese making ingredients are added.

  3. The milk coagulates into a single curd.

  4. The curd is placed into cheese cloth and hung to drain off the whey.

  5. The curd is sometimes pressed to remove more whey, with salting taking place before or after this process.

  6. The cheese is refrigerated and is often ready to be eaten immediately.

  • A second, larger pot to place your first pot in, to act as a water jacket, so you can indirectly heat your milk

  3. The milk coagulates into a single curd

  4. The curd is cut and stirred to drain off whey

  5. The curd is sometimes heated and/or pressed, to remove even more whey

  6. The curd is moulded and shaped into a cheese, salting takes place before or after this process

  7. The cheese is matured or aged under controlled conditions

This Kit Contains:

You Will Need: (most of which can be found in your kitchen)

  • Stainless steel pot to place your milk in large enough to hold eight to ten litres

  • A second, larger pot to place your first pot in, to act as a water jacket, so you can indirectly heat your milk

  • Large stainless steel or enamel colander

  • Stainless steel perforated spoon

  • Stainless steel curd knife

  • Stainless steel ladle

  • Measuring cups

  • Measuring spoons

  • Somewhere to age your cheese (10 to 15 deg C)
